Receiving cheques from someone overseas? Easy...

We will convert cheques or cheque drafts that are made out in a foreign currency and/or drawn on a foreign bank or Australian bank into Australian dollars.

Easy   Visit a branch or post us your cheque and we will arrange clearance into your Wide Bay Australia account.

A cheque drawn on an overseas bank in their own currency...

(e.g. US Dollars cheque drawn on an US Bank, GBP cheque drawn on English Bank etc):

  • Which converts to less than $5000 AUD will be deposited to your Wide Bay Australia Account when the conversion value is received back through our Bank (Westpac) Bank Statement. Funds from these cheques have a 21 business day clearance.
  • Which convert to greater than $5000 AUD are sent on a Bill for Collection basis to the drawing bank. When our Bank (Westpac) receive the conversion value from the drawing bank (normally in about 6 weeks) then the value is credited to your Wide Bay Australia account as cleared funds.

A cheque drawn on an overseas bank in a currency not their own...

...(eg AUD dollars cheque drawn solely on US bank; Euros cheque drawn on English Bank etc) are sent on a Bill for Collection basis to the drawing bank. When our Bank (Westpac) receives the conversion value from the drawing bank (normally in about 6 weeks) then the value is credited to your Wide Bay Australia account as cleared funds.

A cheque drawn in Australian Dollars on an overseas bank in conjunction with an Australian Bank...

...will be deposited to your Wide Bay Australia Account when the conversion value is received back through our Bank (Westpac) Bank Statement. Funds from these cheques have a 6 business day clearance.
